Tell us a little about yourself.
My name’s Phyllis. I am retired. I’m an 82 year-old grandmother and I have mobility issues.
What made you look for help?
I wanted to at least preserve what strength I had left and maybe improve my abilities some.
Why exactly did you choose us?
I don’t think a group situation would make me feel confident and I think that you know a broad spectrum of problems doesn’t directly issue, zone in on mine. Well I like the fact that she shows up and I don’t have to go somewhere. I like that. The fact that it was tailor-made for me and as silly as the issues might sound to somebody else, who wants to work on that? It helps me, and I think that’s what I’m paying for.
How has the experience been?
My workouts are good. I’m learning to do things again because you lose the ability for it to just be a natural movement to get up from the chair or pick something up off the floor or carry something. I kinda have to plan and this has helped me to make things a bit more natural.
What benefits have you noticed?
Well I think my balance is better, I think. I always worried about being aware already of my surroundings and what it would take to accomplish a particular errand or event you know where would I sit, how would I, and now I don’t worry as much about it. Otherwise, I think I’d stay home and do nothing.
What would you say to others?
Well I think you should just do it if it’s the simplest way to head toward your goal
