How did you find us?

Well, it was a Christmas present from my boyfriend and he was a little nervous to give me that as a Christmas gift because he wasn’t sure how it would go over, giving somebody personal training and nutrition coaching but he knew it was something that I had always wanted.

What motivated you?

Being inactive I wanted to change not having energy, I wanted to change bad eating, I wanted to change not knowing how to exercise, not liking exercise. I wanted to change everything about who I was, I didn’t want to be that person that I was anymore that ate out and had fast food and came home and sat and watched TV and never did anything. That’s not who I wanted to be.

What’s different now?

We buy all of our groceries and we do all of our meal prep on Sunday’s and I have all of my food for the week and I’ve obviously been exercising at a minimum of three times a week so definitely changed.

Why In-Home Walking?

The whole goal of having the trainer be somebody who shows up, she shows up and you’re here and there is no getting out of it and if that person’s not here well then somebody else is going to be here and that’s what you want; you want — that’s what I wanted. I mean, that was the only way I was going to workout was if somebody is here and okay, it’s time to workout.

What inspired you?

You said, do you have a standard for where you would work, and do you have a standard for what kind of car you would drive or what kind of clothes you’d wear or where you want your kids to go to school or just having standards and then you said, well why don’t you have a standard for what you eat and I was like, I don’t know, that’s a good point.

How does this last?

So I do have to actually change how people know me. So now when they ask me what I’m going to do for vacation it’s going to be something active, it’s going to not just going and sitting on the beach even though I like the beach, I can actually walk on the beach, I may run on the beach. I’m going to do something, I’m not just going to sit there and eat.

So I hadn’t thought about really changing who I am to people before. I think you have to do that in order to really have a long-term success otherwise you’ll just go back to who you were.

What if you falter?

I would tell myself I’m worth it. You’re probably … now you’re going to make me cry … but having that standard and putting yourself first because I hadn’t done that in the past. So, I would tell myself that I’m worth it.

I can actually walk on the beach, I may run on the beach. I’m going to do something, I’m not just going to sit there and eat.
