I wanted to change my body and I wanted to be more healthy and I wanted maybe not so much to lose weight but to just be a little bit stronger and more healthier and I knew I wouldn’t get up in the mornings and go some place. I needed somebody to come to me.
I’ve really enjoyed working with (Katherine). I had the very early shift, I believe it was six o’clock in the morning and that’s really hard. Some mornings you just don’t want to get up and do it and knowing that she was on her way and that she’s just wonderful to work with and she’s just very knowledgeable, very fun, very energetic, it made it worthwhile.
The eating was hard, the eating has been really hard but the logging it, top-of-mind awareness is huge!
When you start thinking about your calorie breakdown and your meals, you have five meals a day and where you want to end up it just makes you more aware of what you’re eating and what you’re putting in your mouth.
My stamina is better. I sleep better at night. I think my eating habits are much better. I never really paid attention when I first started eating. I think I wolfed my food down and then I started trying to enjoy it because there were smaller portions, get it to last longer. Just feeling more alert, stronger, even leaner, it’s the whole package. It’s perfect!

Frisco has a weight problem. Being the home of great restaurants like Kenny’s Burger Joint, Stacks Smoke & Tap House, La Hacienda Ranch and Mash’d probably doesn’t help. Yet the major diseases that bring people there are supposed to be preventable through healthy lifestyle. Certainly, sitting all day in Frisco Square or Legacy Town Center would contribute heavily to complications that arise from inactivity.
Between office hours, one can find plenty of great places to exercise in Frisco, even outside of the gyms. You can be very active at Lone Star Ranch Trail, Griffin Parc Trail or Caddo Trail. They offer great settings for walks, jogs, and biking. Yet that doesn’t seem to be enough to positively effect the fitness of Frisco residents. What is going on? Maybe there are just no healthy food options. That can’t be the case, with places like Aldi offering natural groceries and balanced meals.
Spiritual health seems to be a priority in Frisco. Stonebriar Community Church and Gateway Church are thriving. Yet physical health continues to suffer.
