- Regular intense exercise. The receptors on your cells will increase their affinity (their “liking” so to speak) for insulin as your muscles are challenged. Aerobics are not enough.
- A blood sugar balancing diet. The old food pyramid doesn’t work for diabetics. The proper way to eat in order to control blood sugar involves plenty of lean protein sources, quality fats, and high-fiber superfoods.
- Adequate and consistent sleep. Easier said than done, right? True, especially for the diabetic, whose blood sugar swings can trigger adrenaline, making sleep that much more difficult. Learning how to control the factors that interrupt your sleep patterns can make weight control MUCH easier.
