Basic One With Iron is designed for individuals who want to cover their “basic” supplement needs, but only want to take one tablet per day. While not as comprehensive as our original Cooper Complete® formulations, Basic One is vastly superior to other daily vitamins. We encourage you to compare labels and pay particular attention to the levels of key ingredients such as vitamins C, D, E, B-6 and B-12.

Basic One With Iron is suggested for pre-menopausal women and persons needing iron supplements as recommended by a physician. Women in their childbearing years need supplemental iron, as deficiencies are common. The recommended serving is one tablet per day taken with a meal. One bottle contains a two-month supply of 60 tablets.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Why isn’t calcium in Basic One?
Calcium requirements are dependent upon both gender and age. Because Cooper Complete was formulated for men and women, it was best to leave calcium out of the formula.

Is beta carotene in Basic One?
Yes, vitamin A, the first ingredient on the label, is beta carotene. The FDA specifications for vitamin labels require the ingredients to be listed by the vitamin’s name. Beta carotene is a provitamin to vitamin A and is actually converted by the body into vitamin A.

Does Basic One contain natural vitamin E?
All of the multivitamin and mineral formulations contain d-alpha tocopherol, the natural form of vitamin E. Studies have shown that natural vitamin E is not only better absorbed, but also better retained in the body than the synthetic form, dl-alpha tocopherol.  (Note: To remember the difference between natural d-alpha tocopherol and synthetic dl-alpha tocopherol, think “d” for delivers and “dl” for delivers less.)

Are there other supplements I should take in addition to Basic One?
To maintain cardiovascular health, we recommend that adults take a Cooper Complete multivitamin such as Basic One as well as Advanced Omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil). In addition, women should also take calcium. For individuals on statin medications we also offer Coenzyme Q10 Ubiquinol. Basic One formulations do not contain CoQ10. Many physicians recommend individuals on statins take 100 to 200 mg CoQ10 per day.

Is there anyone who should NOT take Basic One multivitamin and mineral supplement?
We are not aware of any medications or conditions that prevent a person from taking Basic One. Basic One does not contain vitamin K or CoQ10 and is safe for those taking the blood thinner Coumadin (warfarin). Always talk to your personal physician before starting any supplement regime.

The tablet size is too big. Can I cut or crush the tablets to make them smaller?
Yes. It is safe to crush or cut the tablets into smaller size. However, the minerals in vitamins do not taste good. Be aware that if the tablet is crushed it will be difficult to mask the flavor if adding it to something else.

Is Basic One soy, peanut, garlic, yeast, gluten, corn and pepper-free?
Yes. However, we outsource the actual production of our products to a manufacturing facility that produces other supplements. It is possible that other products run on the machines might contain any of these ingredients. While the equipment is cleaned completely between different runs in order to avoid cross contamination, the potential is still there.

Is this product dairy-free?
Yes, Basic One With Iron is dairy-free.
