About Laura McMannis, LMT

Laura was born and raised in Dallas, where she was the youngest of 6 children. She fell fell in love with the arts in high school and pursued her passion for music by graduating from the Arts Magnet / Booker T. Washington School of the Performing and Visual Arts in Downtown Dallas.

Continuing her education at the University of Texas in Arlington, she was offered a job in property management. After a real estate license & 10 years in the industry, including custom home sales, Laura still felt unfulfilled. Something inside her said it was time for a career change.

Massage therapy was suggested by a friend who recognized her gift of touch. In 1998, she quit her real estate career and went to massage therapy school full time. Upon completion of both basic training and several advanced courses, she went to work.  It was immediately clear that she had found her calling.

She has since taken numerous additional advanced courses including Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Neuro-Structural Integration Therapy (NST) and  Clinical Massage Therapy certification. Clients note not only her knowledge of the body’s response to various massage techniques, but also her ability to wisely apply to each individual all she has learned through her extensive education and experience. The result is therapeutic muscle manipulation in a very relaxing session that flows in a de-stressing and rejuvenating rhythm.

She is excited to join the Elect Wellness team and provide professional home-delivered massage therapy for our clients.
