About Jim Lyons
Jim Lyons grew up in Abilene, Texas and graduated with honors from Hardin Simmons University with a degree in Theology in 2000. The weight room has been a place where Jim has felt very comfortable since he was in his early teens. A love for all things Arnold and Stallone led to this early obsession with the iron. He has always had a desire to help others and lend his hand and encouragement to anyone who would listen. Jim credits his ongoing passion for strength and fitness to the loss of his beloved grandfather when he was young. His grandfather suffered from hypertension and a series of strokes in his early seventies diminished his memory and the man that Jim loved so much became a shell of the man he remembered. As Jim grew older and studied everything he could about fitness and health, he realized that through simple dietary changes and exercise, his grandfather could have easily avoided what happened to him. Jim’s desire to help others realize that they control their own lives comes from these early experiences.
Jim is a Cooper Institute certified personal trainer. He has over 15 years of strength training experience and is constantly reading and studying to better himself as a trainer. He understands that not everyone can workout on a daily basis and has a deep understanding of how to design the most effective workouts for each individual and their circumstances.
